REACH Legislation

Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical (EC) 1907/2006

The EC-Regulation No. 1907/2006 generates new duties for producers, importers and suppliers of goods that enter European Union members. The EU released on 28 October 2008 the Candidate List of substances of very high concern and now NETGEAR and our Offshore Manufacturers are required to document compliance.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has released the "Candidate List" concerning substances of very high concern (SVHC). Pursuant to Section 33 of the EC-Regulation, each supplier has the obligation to inform the purchaser of the goods if the product contains a substance of the "candidate list" in a concentration of more than 0.1 (1,000 ppm) mass percentages.

All products shipped from the European distribution centers are compliant with the European Community REACH legislation as of October 28, 2008. All NETGEAR products shipping worldwide are compliant with the European Battery Directive as of October 28th, 2008.
